The majority of Americans will ignore the following Wall Street Journal article. Why? Selective Attention. I meet these people every day and have listened to them for years. Like many of us, they have experienced the widening chasm of income inequality, and resulting severe hardship. And like most of us, their actions are based on emotion: not fact. There is no time to give to thoughtful contemplation. So the Post's article will go unread by most Republicans and Independents: an unfortunate consequence of a Plutocracy/Corporatocracy that cares little for citizens. And those many citizens who will continue to vote for Trump will also continue to overlook wealthy giveaways and tax breaks, as well as crass behavior, hoping for change.
