All summer I've been watching gold Jupiter cross the Southern sky from East to West.
Tonight Jupiter will conjunct with brilliant Venus (so close the two planets will appear to merge) and Mercury will be nearby -- clearly visible from the Northern as well as Southern hemisphere, without binoculars or a telescope. It's a beautiful vision.
(If you don't catch it tonight, it will still be visible for a week or so.)
Check it out if it isn't too cloudy.
