U.S. Senate's "Let Them Eat Cake"

In the past two days, we have gone from surprised weeping over the Georgia elections -- as if things could have turned out differently -- to today's predictably heartless "healthcare" roll-back.
In this time of Trump's Republican majority, how could anyone expect a sea change? We can feel it in the air - an intractable tidal wave, promising greed and callous indifference to suffering.
They have been promising to get rid of Obamacare for 7 years, in spite of the millions of poor it has kept alive with Medicaid expansion, who now face large medical cuts -- all to fund this "massive transfer of wealth" to the upper 10-20%.
Trump said it was "great" two weeks ago, and then "mean," quickly flitting to other things, leaving many of those who voted for him facing the choice between food and medical treatments, healthcare and shelter. Cutbacks have already begun: A friend's daughter just received a letter that, due to Medicaid cuts, she will no longer receive medications she needs to survive. Another friend's brother died of an asthma attack because he couldn't afford a doctor.
Obama put it best: Just don't get "old or poor."
