Manipulation, Body Language, Leaders

Politicians' body language can profoundly affect crowds. According to ancient philosophies like Buddhism*, mudras (certain hand positions) focus energy, often sacred energy: attempting to manifest our "better selves." But this can be misused.
Although politicians' admiring crowds are as temporary and changeable as life itself, they can be destructive. Mobs, for example, or adoration of unscrupulous dictators.
Knowing how profoundly politicians can affect our lives, it can help to turn away when influential leaders use powerful body, as well as verbal, language. Practicing Buddha's emphasis on detachment, anyone can breathe and let go.

Explanation of Buddhist Mudras

* Buddhist practitioners aren't necessarily religious. But they can be: There are Jewish Buddhists, Christian Buddhists, etc. Religious Westerners who practice the philosophy of Buddhism.
