In the Midst of the Impossible, Laughter Helps

"Joe Biden wore a purple priest's gown and handed the dreamer plastic children's swords, which they carried into a house 'to perform an exorcism on a young guy.'"* This anecdote snapped me out of one of those emotional crises we're experiencing these days. Absurd humor defies the impossible. Writer Norman Cousins once claimed laughter cured him of paralysis. During this time, laughter can be life-saving, for me as well as others, even if we're laughing at the impossibility of our lives.
