When Journey's Jon Cain was down and out in LA, his dad's words kept him going. He jotted "Don't Stop Believing" in his notebook. Several years later when he joined Journey, he and his bandmates blended his lyrics into this best-selling song. Cain's dad did a lot to contribute to his son's success. When as a child, Cain survived two near-death experiences, his dad said "Your life has been spared for a greater reason, and that must be music" and enrolled him in music lessons. His dad never stopped believing in him. Journey released "Don't Stop Believing" in 1981.
