Trump Will Probably Win

"I've been waiting a year and a half for this election" an early voter told a reporter on tv. "I don't need a priest, but a businessman" said another. Both middle-aged white men. (Businessman? Never mind Trump's 7 bankruptcies and bailouts by family.) And then there was the black man who explained Trump's virtues to me at a bus stop, and both black and white men have told me in Ubers and Lyfts and stores - all the reasons why I should vote for Trump. And the pastors, and evangelicals, and the librarian who unexpectedly lectured me about the greater plan, as if I hadn't a clue. And Fox news-lovers - like those who filled the city I moved away from. And Florida early voters for Trump. The only way I can imagine a better outcome is a miracle, Kamala Harris' seemingly fortunate life path pulling her through and returning us to sanity. But even political/writer pros at magazines like The Atlantic admit its close to hopeless. The most recent story by Tom Nichols says Trump voters like his dictatorial, debased character, in part, because this upsets us.
