Those of us who are creatives could benefit at times from National Endowment for the Arts grants which helped in a world that doesn't reward the arts as it does technology and business. But like just about everything that has helped those of us who are not wealthy, NEA grants are being canceled.
The Consumer Financial Protection Board is simultaneously closing. It was created in 2011 to protect consumers after the government's financial debacle of 2008.
The current administration, which people elected to lower prices, is decimating just about everything those of us who are not wealthy could turn to. And there will be no institutional memory to restore what is being lost.
I was just one of many who were helped by both the NEA and CFPB.
I knew before the election what would happen if Trump was re-elected, but there was nothing any of us could do to stop the Trump-Musk giveaway wave. I don't write about it frequently anymore because it's too late to prevent and undo all that has transpired in the past 6 months.
