New Laws Curtail US Protests

Bills to end peaceful demonstrations in the United States are being written at an alarming rate.
Across the States, legislatures are passing laws to end protesting. North Dakota has just drafted 4 new bills to prevent this First Amendment Right (after ousting Dakota Pipeline protesters).
This criminalization of United States Constitutional Rights, which I mentioned in my Jan 19, 2017, post, is finally getting major media attention. The New York Times wrote about it two days ago, as has Public Broadcasting. But I'm dubious about how many citizens are paying attention, or realize how serious this is: to have civil rights eroded.
This suppression of free speech is an aspect of the Trump/nationalistic phenomena that is often overlooked in the wake of crisis after crisis, as well as speculation about Russian interference in Western elections.
While the new adminstration continues to proclaim false facts of their own (while decrying "fake news" from honored sources like CNN), the march to end peaceful protests is dangerous: another attack on what remains of an already fractured democracy.
