French Election Suspense While US Rewards Wealth & Punishes Poverty

"The Blow-It-All-Up Billionaires" describes manipulation of the US Presidential election. There are times I wonder how secure any election is. More than a few technology specialists questioned the security of 2000 and 2004 US Presidential elections.
In the wake of French hacking leaks Friday, French election polls, generally more accurate than US, still predict a Macron win in spite of  Le Pen's popularity and visit to Putin. Even Friday's leaks may not alter Macron's 20% lead. Yet at this point, it is uncertain how much a centrist upstart can "heal" the wounds of recent terrorism, unemployment, and divisions among the populace - although he may help prevent possible EU dissolution.
The global nationalist wave is understandable. The problem is that choosing what isn't status quo does not guarantee a solution, and as in the U.S., could replace what is good (reasonably-priced health care for pre-existing conditions) with what isn't (no estate tax for billionaires like the Trump family).
