Maybe many of us felt the drumbeat of impeachment long before the President's pivotal July 25th call. Carl Jung called it The Collective Unconscious: that sense of the tide turning, whether we agree with it or not. Younger democratic members were pushing congressional leaders to do something about Trump. And their 'something' was "Impeachment." Some things can't be stopped, like a logjam breaking up, a torrent washing away roads. So Congress narrowed (perhaps too much) the focus to Absolute Power vs Checks and Balances: King vs President. And while we fight over details, the point is missed by too many. Whether we like Trump or not, whether we're democratic, republican, independent or green, this country was formed to escape and prevent absolute power.
I love this post.
