Here in the United States, the system is fractured. While political parties argue, and statistics and the President boast a "booming economy," there is a vast swath of poor; an eroded, near-vanished middle class; and vast numbers of homeless.
In my opinion, Bernie Sanders, Andrew Yang, and maybe Elizabeth Warren are the only candidates whose ideas could change this broken system. And Bernie has the gumption not to change course. His is the compassionate, New Deal-like democracy mentioned in my last post.
Although Buttigieg is soaring, events like his billionaire-hosted fundraisers belie his loyalties.
Meanwhile, our youngest voting population knows that Bernie Sanders is the person who would not settle. But the rest of us are hesitant. Why can't we be like The Greatest Generation of our elders and let there be real change?
