I know: Biden pardoning his son only further exposes our corrupt, unequal justice system. Prisons are filled with people who don't belong there. Recently, another son of a friend of mine (who needed mental help - not incarceration) was murdered by a cellmate. And if you follow me, you know how I feel about police, guns and the law. What I am saying about Biden is you can't blame him for trying to protect his son from the Trump administration, which will begin in little over a month. Like anyone who has been close to an addicted person, Biden agonized over what to do. Just because Trump does it all the time and will pardon again doesn't mean it's right.
(There are writers I've studied like Julian Vigo, Thomas Szaz, R.D. Laing who propose that prisons are one way the system deals with a scarcity of well-paying jobs, as did mental institutions.)
