Politics, Power, and Female Oppression

In my last few posts, I've tried to describe why the Kavanaugh nomination has become even more serious as his character flaws are increasingly revealed, and why I believe the courageous women who have revealed what he did to them.
His honesty was already dubious. During his initial hearings, he waivered and dodged questions numerous times. He even denied knowing of the law firm where a good friend is partner.
Now, Thursday's hearing promises to be another charade, even worse than that of Clarence Thomas. At least there had been an FBI investigation into Anita Hill's and another woman's accounts, even though Joe Biden's committee never let the second woman testify.
But now it's even worse: There has been no FBI investigation, but instead a biased Fox News interview revealing a binge-drinking parochial school student with a self-obsession and repression that could produce the behavior Dr. Ford and Ms. Ramirez report. Choir boy does not equal Saint. We all know this.
It's about politics, power, and continued female oppression.
